'Love Is Blind': Who got married and who broke up? - New York Post

Netflix’s wild reality show “Love Is Blind” dropped its wedding finale Thursday, revealing at last which couples made it to “I do.”

The show features strangers who get engaged without ever seeing each other — instead “dating” by chatting through walls. Once engaged, they meet in person, vacation, move in together and prep for their wedding. But of the five couples who were still together going into the finale, only two came out married.

Spoiler alert! Here’s where everyone stands, in the end.

Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton

Lauren and Cameron captured the internet’s hearts — so much that Shonda Rhimes tweeted about it. “When I saw there were only 3 episodes available of #loveisblindnetflix after I already got obsessed with Cameron/Lauren love? No lie, I thought: ‘So a show gets me addicted then makes me wait for new episodes only on Thursdays? Karma is a b#tch,’ ” she wrote.

Luckily, they were one of the two couples that actually made it to “I do.” All along the way, they were honest with each other about the fact that Cameron was Lauren’s first white partner, and they discussed the ins and outs of an interracial relationship. The main issues standing in their way were Lauren’s fear of losing her independence, and her dad’s disapproval, since he wanted her to marry a black man.

But all’s well that ends well, because Speed exclusively tells The Post that they now have Sunday dinners with her dad every week.

“We are [still together,] happily married, with a little fur-baby puppy,” she says.

Damian Powers and Giannina Gibelli

Damian turned out to be the show’s dark horse: He seemed ordinary, maybe even a little bland for someone on a dating reality show. But beneath his mild exterior hides a messy guy who lives for drama. Because when he and the opinionated Giannina made it to the altar, he broke it off, while she ran out, distraught. He didn’t seem to mean his “I don’t” as a permanent breakup, since he tried to talk to her after. He even told her he wanted to stay friends and keep dating.

But Giannina was understandably annoyed and not having it. Really, what did he think was going to happen when he flaked on their wedding? We’ll have to find out at the March 5 cast reunion.

Mark Cuevas and Jessica Batten

Mark and Jessica were one of the more drama-fueled couples. He was earnest, all-in and 25 years old, but 34-year-old Jessica was filled with doubts on all levels. She feared commitment, she feared their near-decade age gap, and she seemed like she was more into Barnett than Mark. So it was no surprise to viewers that they fell apart. As Jessica runs out of the room in her wedding dress, leaving Mark alone at the altar, you can hear someone in the crowd say, “This is so embarrassing for her.”

Amber Pike and Matt Barnett

Amber and Barnett seemed to have a strong physical connection, bragging about their bedroom exploits to everyone else. But that doesn’t always make for lasting love.

Their main issue was Amber’s debt, making Barnett the major breadwinner in their household. Jessica also seemed to have eyes for Barnett, which Amber was not happy about. Surprisingly, they are the only other couple aside from Lauren and Cameron to make it to “I do.”

Kelly Chase and Kenny Barnes

Kelly and Kenny were mostly smooth sailing throughout the show, not having arguments or drama. So it’s surprising they didn’t last; they seemed like a match. They were like-minded and fit into each other’s families. But they petered out on the wedding day in a mild way (compared to everyone else). “I absolutely adore you and love you,” Kelly said. “But I don’t.” Instead of crying, after she walked out, Kenny told the crowd how complex the situation was. So, maybe there’s hope they were a good match and just weren’t ready for marriage. We’ll find out whether or not they reconnected after the botched wedding at the “Love Is Blind” reunion special.
