Fans of Love is Blind have wondered how the couples in the pods find out that they are sexually and physically compatible. Of course, it comes to no secret that just like phone sex exists in relationships, pod sex is a very real thing, confirms fan-favorite, Giannina Gibelli.
On Valentine's Day, 2020, Netflix released its experimental dating show, Love is Blind, which set out to prove that love can exist beyond the prejudice of appearance and outward influences. The goal of the show was to essentially prove that love is blind and that it is truly based on emotional connection. Without the distraction of physical appearance and worrying about looks, the singles looking for love entered "pods" (or isolated rooms) which enabled them to talk to another person on a date with the intention of finding their soulmates without ever laying eyes on them. The social experiment/reality TV show managed to do what they set out to do, according to all of the contestants who got engaged on the show, love is, in fact, blind.
People who have had the pleasure of watching Love is Blind to its completion know the outspoken Giannina Gibelli best for her passion in the way she loved Damian Powers both inside and outside the pods. The two immediately began pod dating and working on building a strong emotional for the first few weeks before becoming engaged. Upon engagement, the two met in person for the first time and there began their physical relationship. After they were jetted off to Mexico for their very own pre-honeymoon, where they could see just how compatible they are outside of the pods. Even though Giannina wasn't shy about what she wanted sexually from Damian, he was a bit more sheepish, but the chemistry was undeniably there. However, this wasn't the case for Kenny Barnes and Kelly Chase, where their emotional connection was strong but the sparks just weren't there physically. Fans of the show have wondered, how do the cast figure out in the pods if they'd be a good match sexually without being able to be in the same room together?
Giannina gave us the answer to the audience most asked questions: was there such thing as "pod sex?" And according to Giannina, it's real. She said in our recent interview, "Pod sex. Pod sex is a very real thing." The Venezuelan beauty continued, "I mean, there wasn't the visual portion of it, but there was the flirting portion of it." Though she and Damian's interactions were very heartfelt, apparently the conversation did get a little steamy when the cameras were off. She revealed, "When you're flirting with someone, you're going to ask before you meet them - Does this person vibe with me? Do they have my sexual vibe? Are they firey? Are they kinky?" Though fans never saw that more mature side of the show, Giannina definitely confirmed that it would hot and heavy on those couches. She reiterated, "But yeah, Pod sex is a very real thing."
Fans could see the couples leaving the pods and being able to meet their fiancés for the first time, they were more than eager to jump into bed with each other. However, it was obvious to viewers that the couples that weren't able to match up physically were also the ones who didn't end up as a couple at the end. So it's now confimred that pod sex was a very real thing and that it was a necessary step in the process of finding their soulmate.
