Jessica Batten from Love Is Blind said her dating life is as going better than ever, even as coronavirus keeps us separated from each other. The embattled contestant from the hit Netflix show has moved on from the hate she received and embracing kind messages from fans.
Love Is Blind recently announced it had renewed for a second and third season after the resounding success from its first season. Jessica was a major character on the show. She was a focal point in the pods, as she waffled between Mark Cuevas and Matt Barnett. Once Barnett decided that he was more in love with Amber Pike, Jessica settled with Mark. That didn't work out great. Jessica dated Mark until their wedding day, an event that was forced upon her by production. After Mark said, "I do," Jessica, unsurprisingly, said "I don't." In the reunion that aired a week later, Jessica was ripped by Amber for her infatuation with Barnett. Jessica said she is trying to be better and grow from the experience like the rest of them.
Jessica did a Q&A on her Instagram stories this week and answered a lot of questions - about life, about the show - including what her dating life looks like currently. She had hinted at the reunion that she had happily moved on, was living in Los Angeles and that dating was going well for her. She said, while standing outside in her backyard next to a burning fire, that dating life is "better than it's ever been."
That's great to hear for Jessica, but it's also a little unbelievable, considering the situation we currently find ourselves in. Either Jessica has mastered the art of online and app dating, or she isn't following the self-quarantine guidelines. It's a challenge for everyone out there to date at the moment.
Love Is Blind was a show that was not only tailor-made for Netflix, but also for the time we currently find ourselves in. As we surge through the movies and TV shows we had planned on watching but never made time for, it's easy so cringe at a simple handshake or hug from actors living in a pre-COVID-19 world. Love Is Blind, by contrast, seems strangely prepared to handle the coronavirus outbreak, at least at the beginning. If those pods were accessible to average singles, that would be the hot dating spot. Alas, dating in the real world is a little more complex, especially now.
