KISS will be the subject of a new four-hour A&E Biography documentary that will air over the course of two nights in June.
KISStory is set to air on A&E on Sunday, June 27 and Monday, June 28. The two-hour blocks will both begin at 9/8c.
Per Rolling Stone, “The doc will offer an in-depth look at Kiss’ start in New York City’s rock scene during the Seventies, their rise to global fame, struggles with drugs and alcohol during the Eighties, and their revival and reunion in the Nineties. ‘KISStory’ will also feature interviews with avowed Kiss fans like Dave Grohl and Tom Morello, as well as the band’s manager Doc McGhee and producer Bob Ezrin.”
Rolling Stone notes the documentary will include new interviews with Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. It hasn’t been confirmed whether Ace Frehley and Peter Criss were also interviewed for KISStory.
In other KISS news: Netflix is “near a deal” for the KISS biopic, Shout It Out Loud, with the film reportedly “on a fast track.” Both Simmons and Stanley will be working closely on the film. Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil) has been tapped as a director with the script being written by Ole Sanders.
As for the plot structure of the film, it’ll primarily focus on Simmons and Stanley growing up and meeting in Queens and starting the iconic rock band.
