Stories of Love: A playlist of stories from Storytellers Project, Week 5 - USA TODAY

Even when you need to #StayAtHome, we know you want to feel connected to your community. And creating empathy and understanding is vital in times of uncertainty.

So the Storytellers Project has put together a playlist of true, personal stories shared by your neighbors from across the country. These stories are uplifting. They showcase perseverance, family bonds, life-changing decisions, love and new beginnings as we connect over our most deeply held values. Look for it every Thursday.

Week 5 we see that all we need is love -- in all forms.

Love from across the aisle

A young idealistic Democrat, Ryan Moon assumes his love would have to share all his values. When Ryan gets his dream job of working at the State Capitol, he finds himself falling in love with the exact opposite -- a hard-working Republican with a prominent conservative father. Together, the couple will have to decide if their love is strong enough to cross the aisle. As he says: She spends her days making conservative policy, and he spends his days undoing it.

Good communication is everything

It's a crowded night at a bar in Tempe, Arizona, when Missy Keast spots a cute guy and the two lock eyes. Missy grabs a notepad from a waitress and starts writing a note because she's deaf. They hit it off and agree to go on a hike, but communication is rough. As they prepare for a hike, she teaches him that deaf people toss a pebble at the feet of their hiking partners to draw their attention to beautiful things on the trail. But her date is a goof and he tosses a whole rock, right past her head. Eventually, they work out their communication issues and today are married with children.

Now they have something fun to talk about! About a year later, she invites Vince to move in to her 435-square-foot studio apartment, and the first thing he moves is his perfume fridge. They appreciate how each was able to embrace their weird interests, and find love.

A twist in the game leads Dani to realize that she has feelings for another player, a woman named Cat.
