Giannina Gibelli and Damian Powers fell in love on the first season of Netflix’s Love Is Blind. They got engaged but, ultimately, did not follow through with getting married. At the altar, Giannina said, “I do,” but Damian said, “I do not.”
Fans will remember Giannina fleeing the scene and falling in the mud, and the heated conversation between the couple that took place after. Though the episode ended with the two breaking up, they got back together the evening of their wedding.
How Giannina and Damian got back together
“After everything went down, I reached out to him because I just wanted to see where we stand,” Giannina told E!Online.
“Can we be friends? What happened? Like let’s have a conversation where we’re not riled up and we’re just talking as normal people,” she continued. “And then we just talked it out, and we understood where the other person was coming from, ’cause there were so many beautiful moments, and that’s the reason why we’re still together now. We just snuck back into our apartment. He snuck us back in, and we like held each other and healed, and we haven’t been apart since.”
At the Love Is Blind reunion, the couple announced that they’re happily together.
“We are so together. Like, every single day, waking up next to each other and going to the gym together. I don’t want to lose this, and I didn’t,” said Giannina.
Giannina and Damian are self-isolating together
The couple’s been together for over a year at this point, so when Americans were instructed to start self-isolating, it’s not too surprising that Giannina and Damian decided to hunker down together.
On March 27, Giannina posted a series of photos to her Instagram of her and Damian.
“day 15: when one is stir crazy and the other isn’t having it. who’s your quarantine buddy?” she captioned the photo.
“Haha I look so serious and mad here but I’m happy everyone I promise,” responded Damian.
Giannina recently had a birthday and Damian made her feel special and celebrated, even while isolating.
“anyone who knows me knows I’m like this big birthday freak 🎉 I love to go all out and make you feel super special and you have every right to spend it however you’d like – it’s dope to see that this year didn’t change that, yeah I wasn’t excited about it for a while but the sweetness that my friends and family poured into me made me so happy (and Dame managed to surprise me like 4 times in quarantine somehow), we celebrated life and i think we all needed that ☺️ thank you for all of the lovely birthday wishes, I’m gonna go nurse my hangover now,” she wrote on Instagram.
And, like many other reality couples, Giannina and Damian have been creating TikToks to help pass the hours while staying inside.
