TheSleepJudge recently performed a study ranking each of the 50 states on best and worst states for love.
In order to gather this data, TheSleepJudge collected hundreds of thousands of Instagram posts with geotags and romantic hashtags from each state. One very popular romantic hashtag that was found was #shesaidyes. Another factor that went into this study was calculating the number of romantically named places and dividing the results by the population of each state.
The most romantic state is, you guessed it, Hawaii. According to TheSleepJudge, Hawaii’s state website offers an entire section on finding the most romantic locations on each island. Hawaii is also known to be a very popular honeymoon destination.
Following Hawaii for most romantic states is New York. This is because Central Park is ranked first for the Top 5 Engagement Locations, according to TheSleepJudge. Another famous spot in New York City for engagements and romantic movie scenes is none other than the Empire State Building
Ranking third and fourth for most romantic states is New Jersey and Florida, respectively. New Jersey has many romantic named locations such as Valentine, New Jersey. Florida also offers a beautifully romantic atmosphere due to the warm weather, according to TheSleepJudge.
Some states that lacked in the romance department are New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and coming in last is Mississippi.
TheSleepJudge also ranked Top 10 Cities for Engagements and Central Park ranked first among this list.
