CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A local woman is spreading love across Carolina Beach through a very simple way — a yard sign. She’s hoping more will share the anti-hate message too.
Anya Jones created signs that read, “Hate Has No Home on Our Island.”
She says she saw the signs popping up across other communites in the US and knew it would be something that would take off on Pleasure Island.
“I know how tight-knit this community is and considering how divided things are throughout this country right now, I thought it was important to show that there is love and acceptance on this island,” Jones told WWAY.
The signs cost $10.
Jones says 100% of the proceeds will go toward two local organizations that work with youth, Kids Making It and Northwest Youth Corps Inc.
“We were looking for organizations that worked with children, especially ones that work with underserved and marginalized kiddos,” Jones wrote.
As of Wednesday night, more than 260 have been sold.
Visit here if you would like order one. You can do so through June 21.
