Guitarist Bob Kulick, best known for his work with KISS, Lou Reed and Meatloaf, has died at the age of 70.

The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Kulick’s younger brother and fellow guitarist Bruce confirmed the news in a Facebook post, writing: “I am heartbroken to have to share the news of the passing of my brother Bob Kulick.

“His love of music, and his talent as a musician and producer should always be celebrated.”

“I know he is at peace now, with my parents playing his guitar as loud as possible.

“Please respect the Kulick Family’s privacy during this sad time.”

Kulick was known as the ‘secret’ guitarist of KISS, after unsuccessfully auditioning for the band in 1972, he went on to record guitar on tracks including Alive II, Killers and Creatures of the Night.

He would later appear on Paul Stanley’s solo album and be officially added as a member of KISS from 1984 to 1996.

Kulick also played with Lou Reed, Motorhead, Alice Cooper, Michael Bolton, and Diana Ross throughout his career.
