Davis averaged 13.5 points and 3.6 assists in 2021-22. The White Plains, N,.Y., native led the Tar Heels with 142 assists and 40 steals, was second free throw percentage (.833) and three-point percentage (.367), third in three-pointers (66) and fourth in scoring. He averaged 14.7 points over a team-high 37.7 minutes per game, had 30 assists/12 turnovers and made 29 for 31 from the free throw line in the NCAA Tournament. He set numerous career-highs in the NCAA Tournament, including points (30 vs. Baylor), assists (12 vs. Marquette) and rebounds (12 vs. Kansas). Davis played the entire game three times (45 minutes vs. Baylor and 40 at Duke and vs. Kansas).
Love averaged 18.8 points in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, tying Tar Heel teammate Brady Manek for the most points (113) by any players in the tournament. The St. Louis native's three highest-scoring games of the season came in the NCAA Tournament – 30 vs. UCLA, 28 vs. Duke and 23 vs. Marquette, and he earned All-Final Four and All-East Regional honors. Love scored 621 points in 2021-22, becoming the eighth Tar Heel sophomore to score 600 in a season (joining Michael Jordan, Jerry Stackhouse, Antawn Jamison, Joseph Forte, Tyler Hansbrough, Wayne Ellington and Harrison Barnes). He led UNC in free throw percentage (.863), was second in scoring (15.9), three-pointers (93), assists (139) and steals (37) and was third in three-point percentage (.360). He ranked in the top 10 in the ACC in scoring, assists, free throw percentage and three-pointers.
