Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks' Ollie Morgan and Becky Quentin shared a romantic kiss on screen this week, but behind-the-scenes it was a very different story.
Actor Gabriel Clark, who plays Ollie, has revealed that there was actually a sneaky trick employed in order to film the kiss scene safely and it involved some rather unusual stand-ins.
With physical contact between actors still limited on the soap's set due to Covid-19 filming restrictions, Gabriel and his co-star Katie McGlynn, who plays Becky, actually ended up having to get passionate with some green replacements.

Gabriel revealed the cheat on Instagram, jokingly writing: "Need to do a Covid kiss? Call Kermit and Shrek", alongside a snap of himself holding a green model of a face on set.
The post also featured Katie standing beside her own stand-in, which was wearing a long brown wig in order to look more like her character, as well as a shot of the two heads mounted on tripods, looking ready to get passionate.
Gabriel also shared a couple of cheeky video clips of co-star Katie standing in front of a green screen and preparing for her intimate moment with the green Ollie stand-in.
The actor's followers seemed to enjoy the glimpse behind-the-scenes, with one joking: "I knew something wasn't quite right with that kiss lol" and another writing: "Haha extremely weird".

Gabriel also couldn't resist making another joke about the situation with his co-star, replying to Katie's crying laughing and heart emojis comment with "you've never looked better babe xoxo".
The actor shared another scene secret while replying to comments on his post, telling one follower: "It was a mix of a real life couple for the close up shot of the lips and then both of us kissing the air and then Kermit and Shrek".
It remains to be seen how many more unusual kiss scenes the pair might have to film, but what is clear is that Becky could soon be leading Ollie into serious trouble as she hatches a plan against the local hospital.
With Ollie already spreading some divisive ideas among his family thanks to Becky's influence, an incident with the police could lead Ollie down a worrying path.
Hollyoaks airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
