Mecosta County Meals on Wheels has distributed thousands of meals to homebound seniors in Mecosta County.
MECOSTA COUNTY — Mecosta County Meals on Wheels announced that as a member of Meals on Wheels America it will be participating in this year's Subaru Share the Love event.
“Being one of the four national Share the Love charitable choices is an exciting opportunity”, said Shawn Sredersas, local coordinator of Meals on Wheels Mecosta County. “This national fundraising campaign is crucial to our local programming of traveling over 80,000 miles across Mecosta County while delivering 52,000 meals and wellbeing checks to isolated seniors right here in our own neighborhood.”
Ellie Hollander, president and CEO of the national Meals on Wheels America expressed gratitude for everyone’s collaborative efforts.
“We’re grateful for our long-standing national partnership with Subaru America and local participating meal programs," Hollander said. "The Share the Love event, over the last 14 years has helped deliver over 2.5 million meals and visits to vulnerable seniors nationwide. Together we’ll continue to enable seniors to live with independence and dignity.”
With every purchase or lease made of a new Subaru now through Jan. 3, Meals on Wheels can be selected as the purchaser’s charity of choice.
Participating Subaru dealerships will then donate $250 to help fund that selected charity. Meals on Wheels is one out of four charity choices.
