We wanted it, we got it.
Netflix dropped the trailer Thursday for Ariana Grande’s upcoming concert documentary, titled “excuse me, i love you.” The film premieres Dec. 21 on the streaming service.
The movie gives a behind-the-scenes look at Grande’s 2019 “Sweetener” world tour, off of her 2018 record of the same name. The project won Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2019 Grammys, and the tour also included work from Grande’s Grammy-nominated follow-up album, “thank u, next.”
“I know it’s been hard physically and mentally — this show for sure saved my life this year,” the 27-year-old says through tears in the trailer.
Grande’s mother, Joan, is seen in the footage, as well as Scott Nicholson, one of her background dancers. Her boyfriend, realtor Dalton Gomez, was not shown in the minute-long clip.
The doc is named after a lyric from the “Sweetener” song “R.E.M.”
In October, Grande released a surprise album called “Positions.” She also appeared in a holiday sing-off with Jennifer Hudson and Mariah Carey in the latter’s new Christmas special.
