In what came as a surprise to no one, Aaron Rodgers officially became a holdout at Packers minicamp after he failed to show up for Tuesday’s first practice.
Rodgers, the NFL’s reigning MVP, continues to stand his ground following discontent within the organization, where he’s made it clear he doesn’t want to play for the Packers anymore.
At this point, you have to wonder what it would take for Green Bay to actually lure Rodgers back. Because it doesn’t appear to be a money issue — as the Packers reportedly offered Rodgers north of $40 million per year. It goes back to GM Brian Gutekunst, and it’s hard to see resolution happening anytime soon.
Let’s say Rodgers is done in Green Bay — which would leave Chicago Bears fans rejoicing. What would that mean for their future? Nothing good.
ESPN reporter Rob Demovsky, who covers the Packers, shared his observations from Green Bay’s minicamp practice, which featured plenty of struggles from Jordan Love, the guy the Packers traded up to draft as an eventual replacement to Rodgers.
Jordan Love’s first crack at the 2-minute drill (that we’ve seen) barely gets past midfield and ends with him skying a pass over wide-open Malik Taylor’s head on fourth-and-7 from the plus-46.

Notes from Minicamp practice No. 1
* Jordan Love struggled with accuracy. 12-23 passing in team, including failed 2-minute drill.
* Davante Adams was present but did very little.
* Devin Funchess looks the part.
* Jaire Alexander with a big PBU (what else is new).

As you can imagine, Bears fans are enjoying Love’s early struggles very much. And sure, it might just be practice, but Bears fans are hoping that the Packers are about to get their own taste of quarterback hell.

The replies to this read like Bears fans rationalizing every QB competition we've been through in the last 20 years. "we have a great defense" "It's only June, call me when the pads are on!" "Jeez it's the off season, make the mistakes now" Funny when the shoe's on the other foot https://t.co/R1xSRrK4ZK
