JoJo Siwa got her way.
The recently out Nickelodeon star said earlier this week she was begging producers of her upcoming film to cut out a scene that involved kissing a man. Now, she said, producers are honoring her request and will cut the smooch.
The movie, “Bounce,” is still in the works from Will Smith’s Westbrook production company and is based on a book by the same name. It’s due out later this year.
“My friends at paramount and my friend Caleeb Pinkett are 1000% supportive of me and assured me that I don’t have to do anything I don’t wanna do ever!!!” she tweeted. “I’m so excited to make the movie ‘Bounce’ and couldn’t have better people to make it with!!”
The studio didn’t return The Post’s request for comment.
Siwa cited her relationship with girlfriend Kylie Prew as the reason for her protest of the hetero kiss.
“I’m madly in love and I do not want to kiss another human. Especially because it’s a man,” Siwa, 18, told Entertainment Weekly. She explained that her fans may not separate her from her “Bounce” character, Franny.
“That’s what they look at me as, not some character, not some fictional thing. And so it’s going to be a little weird.”
“I’m not about it,” she continued, referring to heterosexual make-outs. “I’m trying to get it pulled so bad. It’ll happen. It’ll get pulled.”
The male lead hasn’t yet been cast in the movie, which saw delays in production due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Adapted from the eponymous young-adult book by Megan Shull, “Bounce” is directed by “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” filmmaker Susan Johnson and due out later this year.
Siwa came out as part of the LGBTQ community in January after much speculation among fans, with rumors coming to a climax after the “Dance Moms” icon shared a video of her lip-syncing to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” — a noted gay anthem — recorded while working on a collaboration with TikTok collective Pride House. Fans immediately picked up on her hints.
In the same week, she also shared a picture of herself wearing a shirt which read “Best Gay Cousin Ever,” effectively confirming what many had suspected.
She later told People in April that she doesn’t want to put too strict of a label on her sexuality.
“I don’t know — bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight. I always just say ‘gay’ because it just kind of covers it, or ‘queer’ because I think the keyword is cool,” she said.
“I like ‘queer,’ ” Siwa continued. “Technically, I would say that I am pansexual, because that’s how I have always been my whole life is just like, my human is my human.”
